Product description & mechanism of action

Volamel Extra^® sets a new standard in nutritional emulsification to maximize gastrointestinal performance. It is specially formulated for intestinal physiology and works synergistically with natural bile salts and endogenous lipase enzymes. The result is improved digestion and absorption of fats and other nutrients in birds and aquatic species.

During normal digestion, lipids enter the digestive tract as large droplets. Volamel Extra^® produces stable, uniform emulsions that reduce droplet size and increase the surface area accessible to lipase. This accelerates the hydrolysis of fats into free fatty acids and monoacylglycerols and improves their absorption process.

A key feature of Volamel Extra^® is its ability to form many small micelles, increasing the capacity for lipid transport and uptake by enterocytes. With an HLB of around 18, this emulsifier has the highest hydrophilicity and solubility among similar products.

Dosage Recommendations:

Poultry

• Added on top (no change to feed formulation): 300 g/t of feed
• With reformulation of the feed: 250 – 500 g/t of feed

Aqua

• Herbivorous and omnivorous fish (carp, tilapia, e.g.,): 500 – 750 g/t of feed
• Carnivorous fish (salmon, trout, sea bream, sea bass, e.g.,): 750 – 1000 g/t of feed
• Crustaceans: 750 g/t of feed
